Position Responsibilities:
Established vision and leadership for a mentoring program created for traditionally admitted students of color by serving as organization spokesperson, ambassador and advocate to actively support recruitment and retention
Assigned 80 faculty and staff mentors with 350 student protégés and proposed creative relationship development practices through training and activities and daily administrative support
Fiscally responsible for the allocation of 20 Minority Recruitment Program Endowment scholarships
Provided academic advice, counsel, and support for wide-ranging academic, leadership, and personal development interests and affiliated student organizations including an advisory board and honor society
Selected Achievements:
Coordinated the unified instruction for 6 undergraduate-linked courses by updating syllabi and instruction plans to increase college retention and cultural awareness via linked workshops, case studies, and simulations
Co-organized the 2008 & 2010 First World Diaspora Biennial Conference, 40th Anniversary Department of Black Studies Gala, and First World Alumni Reunion Weekend to foster campus and alumni relations
